Harvested 30 cherry tomatoes from Zone B (240 g).  [Cumulative Total = 2.700 kg].

Harvested 3 cucumbers (one very large, one medium, and one very small) (480 g) [Cumulative Total = 1.315 kg]

12 Agosto 2017 (SAT)

It was another busy Saturday in, "il giardino di mia moglie..."

Harvested 0.960 kg of tomatoes from Zone D (6 tomatoes).  Harvested 38 cherry tomatoes from Zone B.  [Cumulative Total = 2.460 kg].

 
Harvested 1 cucumber (225 g) from Zone B.  [Cumulative Total = 0.835 kg].

Harvested two small carrots (30 g) from Zone B.  [Cumulative Total = 0.140 kg].

Harvested some dill seeds.

Harvested two green tomatoes from ZONE D.  I picked them still green because, despite the net I put around the tomato plants, I am still losing green tomatoes to the squirrels..  (310 g); I also harvested 11 cherry tomatoes from ZONE B (100g).    [Cumulative Total for all tomatoes = 1.220 kg].

7 Agosto 2017 (MON)

Today, we have our first tomato from ZONE D (250 g) and 4 cherry tomatoes from ZONE B (40 g); [Cumulative Total for all Tomatoes = 0.810 kg].


Harvested 1 green zucchini from ZONE D (800 g);  [Cumulative Total = 1.780 kg].  I should say that the squash plant is starting to look a little strange.. the leaves have some sort of white film on them.

5 Agosto 2017 (SAT)

Another busy Saturday here in, "il giardino di mia moglia.."


Harvested 64 string beans; ZONE A (760 g);  [Cumulative Total = 1.130 kg].


Harvested 20 cherry tomatoes; ZONE B (160 g);  [Cumulative Total = 0.520 kg].

Harvested the first cucumber of the year!!  (160 g); [Cumulative Total = 0.160 kg].

I also watered everything really well.  The dirt is dry as a bone.. the water did not even want to seep in... not sure why everything is so so dry.. it's been raining sometimes...  and I've been watering.. but, obviously not enough..  Praise God for water and the harvest.  PACE e BENE!

Today was a busy day in il giardino di mia moglia.

 

Harvested 16 leaves of Kale (ZONE B).  (640 g); [Cumulative Total = 1.480 kg].



Harvested 6 cherry tomatoes (ZONE B). (60 g);  [Cumulative Total = 0.280 kg].




Harvested 1 green zucchini (ZONE D). (260 g);  [Cumulative Total = 0.980 kg].



Harvested some wild KOPER WLOSKI (ZONE D).  too light for my scale (less than 20 g for sure).



Harvested 50 sprigs of parsley (ZONE B). (~50 g); [Cumulative Total = 105 sprigs].  According to this link http://www.traditionaloven.com/foods/exchange/10-sprigs/g-gram/parsley-fresh.html ; that would be a Cumulative Total thus far of 0.105 kg.

Harvested 5 cherry tomatoes today (50 g) [ZONE B].  [Cumulative Total: 0.160 kg].

22 Luglio 2017 (SAT)

Today was a busy day in, "il giardino di mia moglia..."

Harvested dill (not weighed).  Problem is, due to the excessively hot weather this past week, most of it was yellow and started to flower.  So, I only picked the green dill that I could find.. and I left the others to go ahead and flower and form seeds... hopefully, we will get a lot of seeds....

Next, I turned my attention to the kale:

Picked 16 leaves (avg weight ~ 40g/ leaf) for a total of 640 g (0.64 kg); [Cumulative Total = 680 g; 0.68 kg].. washed them, dried them on the line, but they were starting to wilt, so, once dry, I brought them in the house and then put them upright in a bottle..

washed the leaves in the kitchen and thought to dry them like so.. but it was too hot and humid (>90 F), so after 15 min, I took them off the line and brought them back in the house..

yep, I hung kale leaves on the clothesline..  it's come to this..

then I put them in a bottle with some Poland Spring water in there... hoping to eat this kale tomorrow or Monday..

Next, I pruned the basil plant... and here is what we got today.  This was 40 g (0.04 kg); [Cumulative Total:  40 g; 0.040 kg]:

this was about 40 g..

I washed it, dried it outside under the sun for ~30 min.. and then hung it up in my kitchen... hope this is OK..

Next was the 31 yellow beans (are these wax beans?) from Zone D.  The string beans in Zone A are growing, but no big beans yet..  These beans weighed 160 g, 0.160 kg [Cumulative Total: 160 g; 0.160 kg].

I think these are called wax beans... harvested from Zone D.

Lastly, I harvested 6 cherry tomatoes from Zone B (60 g; 0.060 kg) [Cumulative Total: 0.110 kg].

Today, I harvested 4 cherry tomatoes from Garden Zone B (40.0 g; 0.040 kg); [Cumulative Total: 50 g; 0.050 kg).

I also noticed that in Zone D, we have some yellow string beans, and one very large green zucchini growing.

18 Luglio 2017 (TUE)

Today I harvested our first red tomato (no photo).. it was a tasty small cherry tomato from Zone B of il giardino di mia moglia.  (10 g; 0.010 kg); [Cumulative Total: 10 g; 0.010 kg].


Today, I also harvested 5 sprigs of parsley (yummy) (5 g; 0.005 kg); [Cumulative Total: 55 g; 0.055 kg].

16 Luglio 2017 (SUN)

Today I harvested the rest of the green lettuce (as the plants have started to bolt and make seeds at the top).  54 leaves, 125 g [Zone B, 125 g, 0.125 kg; [(Cumulative Total:  790 g; 0.790 kg)]

15 Luglio 2017 (SAT)

Today was a very nice day outside, though quite humid..


In the morning, I harvested 110 g of lettuce [Zone B (110 g; 0.110 kg). [(Cumulative Total: 505 g; 0.505 kg)] and 1 leaf of kale [Zone B (40 g; 0.040 kg). [(Cumulative Total: 40 g; 0.040 kg)].

In the afternoon, I harvested an additional 63 leaves of the red leaf lettuce (as the plant has started to make seeds and the lettuce is turning bitter).  [Zone B (160 g; 0.160 kg).  [(Cumulative Total: 665 g; 0.665 kg)].


I also harvested 60 raspberries [Zone C (80 g; 0.080 kg). [(Cumulative Total:  480 g; 0.480 kg)].

I harvested 8 leaves of lettuce from Zone B (40 g; 0.040 kg). [(Cumulative Total: 395 g; 0.395 kg)].

I harvested 3 leaves of lettuce (20 g; 0.020 kg); [(Cumulative Total = 355 g; 335 kg)].


I harvested 11 sprigs of parsley (11 g; 0.011 kg); [(Cumulative Total = 50 g; 0.050 kg)].




Used sprinkler to water the garden in Zone B.  I also added water to the covered cucumbers with dry soil.  Added it on the ground, not on the leaves.  Added water by hand to the cabbage at the end of Zone B.


I added water to the bean plants in Zone A by hand.


Raspberry plants in Zone C are starting to look bad (turn yellow; lots of holes in the leaves).

Today, I sprinkled dust on the leaves of sunflowers and string beans (Zones A and B), cabbage (Zone B), brussel sprouts (Zone B), mieta (Zone B) and squash (Zone D).
